On July 12, 2007 Dr. Moshe Kantor, the newly elected EJC President, visited Athens.
The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece hosted a lunch meeting in honor of Mr. Kantor. Members of the Board, Presidents of major Greek Jewish Communities, the Rabbi of Athens and the Director of the Jewish Museum of Greece attended the event.
In his welcoming address, the President of the Central Board Mr. Moses Constantinis, referred briefly to the history of the Greek Jews and focused on the present day activities of the Community. Anti-Semitism, assimilation, Holocaust education, Middle East and Iran, were some of the issues discussed.
