The First Meeting in Preparation for the Russian and American Jewish Communities Summit Was Held in Geneva

On March 9, 2006, the first meeting in preparation for the summit of the Russian Jewish community and United Jewish communities has taken place in Geneva.
At the meeting, the Russian delegation headed by President of the Russian Jewish Congress Moshe Viatcheslav Kantor and the U.S. delegation headed by Chairman of the United Jewish Communities Robert Goldberg exchanged their views.

The participants of the meeting discussed the ways of co-operation between the communities through implementing projects in Russia and the CIS, holding the Second World Holocaust Forum in Kiev in September 2006, together with addressing the issues related to the repeal of the Jackson-Vanik amendment.

The Russian and American Jewish communities jointly are the most influential in the world in terms of finance, policy and culture. Acting together, these communities have a profound impact on the Jewish life.
